How did the idea of Sleuthster.com begin?

It all began with a ring, a class ring to be precise.

Around 1971 My brother and I where playing along the shores of Clearwater Beach when we happened upon a Dunedin High School 1970 class ring, there    where initials inscribed RAC.

The ring was set aside for many years in my mother's jewelry box and I did not see the ring again until around 1995 when my brother gave me the box. Our mother had died in 1988 and it had been in his   garage since then.

When I opened the jewelry box I could smell the scent of opium which was my mothers favorite perfume.  This brought back so many memories and when I saw the class ring I knew that I had to find the owner.

Thus began an adventure over 8 years until Christmas Eve 2003 when I found the owner of the ring and promptly returned it to her asking for no compensation but she did send me a gift card for Outback Steak House which I thoroughly enjoyed.

I have to give the credit to Knowx.com where I was able to find her married name that Christmas Eve with which I was able to find her phone number in a matter of minutes.

Over the years that I searched I became very proficient on the internet searching. At one point I even wondered if this RAC could have come to some sinister demise which is when I started searching for missing people. Fortunately she was not among this missing, just happily residing in central Florida with her family all of those years.

Surprisingly though there where 2 people I did know on the missing persons websites, Bobby Beich and Wendy Huggy.

What are the odds of that?

Our focus is on the missing

It is hard to believe that every day over 2300 adults and children go missing in the United States. Although a majority of the missing is children it is still unfathomable that approximately 20% are adults. This means that almost 460 adults go missing each day. Whether by choice or because they were an unwilling victim of a crime, it is still detrimental to their friends and family members who wonder everyday what has become of them.
